More Information
Michael Buro presented in his paper "From Simple Features to Sophisticated Evaluation Functions" a practical framework for the semi-automatic construction of evaluation functions for games. Since his approach was very successful in the domain of Othello, we wanted to know, whether a similar approach could be used for the domain of computer chess. The result of this investigation is presented on this page. You are also welcome to read the text that I have written about this work. The title of the text is "Automatisierte Generierung einer Bewertungsfunktion für Schachendspiele". Because there are a lot of English speaking chess programmers I have tried to translate the German document: "Automatic Generation of an Evaluation Function for Chess Endgames"
