Petra ist für die Archäologie ein hochinteressantes Studiengebiet, weil, im Gegensatz etwa zu den antiken Griechen und Römern, noch wenig erforscht ist und nur wenige Inschriften von und über die Nabatäer bekannt sind.

Bekannt und berühmt ist eigentlich einzig die hauchdünne Keramik dieses Volkes.

Petra is a most interesting field for archeology since, quite different to the ancient Greecs and Romans, very little has so far been studied and explored and since very few written documents of and about the Nabateans are known.

Rather well known and famous however, is the typical very thin pottery of these people.
